HISTORY & FUTURE OF LEKKI
Between 1979 to 1983, the Lekki Epe express way was built and commissioned by the then Governor of Lagos state “Chief Lateef Jakande” This road was the catalyst to the development of lekki. When the road was constructed, no body ever imagined that the once lonely and thick swamp forest, inhabited mostly by animals and trees could one day be bobbling with abundant life, commercial activities and abode for some of the most expensive estates in the country.
Today lekki peninsula has been transformed from a rural community or bush to the fastest developing area in Lagos Nigeria, if not Africa as whole.
